La combi y yo

Y esta soy yo, a las 8:30 de la mañana, tratando de no dormirme en el camino al trabajo, cosa fácil si el chofer pone sus éxitos de último momento a todo volúmen, alguna canción mala de hip-hop, reguetón o banda (muero jejeje); y agarrándome hasta con las uñas del banquito tembeleque para no salir volando y dejar mi linda cara embarrada en el piso con tanto enfrenón y arrancón de la buena combi.

Por eso y muchas razones más, soy la mujer más feliz del mundo cuando logro gritar "¡BAJAAAAANN! y salgo despavorida para caminar las 3 cuadras que faltan para llegar a mi oficina o a mi casa :D.

And this is me at 8:30 in the morning, trying not to fall asleep on the way to work, something easy if the driver plays the last hits on the radio out loud, a bad hiphop, reggaeton or banda song, and grabbing with my fingernails to the shaky bench. I really don't wanna fly out of my spot with all the bad driving we suffer in the VW bus.

 For that and many other reasons, I am the happiest woman in the world when I can yell "BAJAAAAANN! (stop the bus!) and get out the bus to walk the 3 blocks to get to my office or my home :D.

Cabalgando en un cepillo de dientes

Y aqui está el boceto de hace unos días a color, inpirada en la frase que me dijo mi novio: "cabalgando en un cepillo de dientes manco". Como los cepillos no tienen brazos o manos, simplemente le rompí una parte del mango. Esta vez me decidí a usar una paleta de colores suaves y por si lo preguntan, la chica de la ilustración no soy yo.

And here is, the sketch from some days ago with color now, inspired in the quote my BF said: "riding on a one-handed toothbrush". As the brushes don't have hands or arms, i just broke its handle. This time i decided to use a soft palette of colors and if you ask, the girl in the picture is not me.

Desempolvando el baúl: Óleos y tintas

Siguiendo con los archivos que encontré en mis respaldos, aqui tengo dos óleos. El primero fue un ejercicio de la universidad, teníamos que copiar un cuadro, y yo me decidí por copiar "Al Agua" de Sorolla, me encantaba el manejo de la luz y los colores, algo que yo hice pero no con mucha maestría :P.  El segundo cuadro lo pinté en ratos libres en mi casa, más que nada para darle uso a los óleos que había comprado y use como referencia una foto de la cual desconozco el autor, pero que estaba en un libro que tenía mi papá.

Continuing with the files I found in my backups, I have two oil paintings here. The first one was an exercise in college, we had to copy a painting, so I decided to copy "Al Agua" by Sorolla, I loved the handling of light and colors, something I tried to do but obviusly i couldn't :P . The second one, I painted in my spare time at home, in order to use the oils that had purchased and using as reference a picture i found in a book that my dad had.



Y estas dos ilustraciones también fueron ejercicios de la universidad, sacados de recortes de revista: un reloj de algún anuncio, que hice con tinta china; y un banco de peces nadando sobre corales que hice con plumas de colores y mucha mucha paciencia. Estas dos ilustraciones me llevaron mucho tiempo y tienen muchísimo detalle, pero como en mis otros trabajos de universidad, mis fotografías no ayudan mucho y es una lástima.
Bueno, espero que les guste esta pequeña galería, saludillos!

And these two illustrations were also made in college, taken from magazine clippings: a watch from some ad that I made with India ink, and a shoal of fish swimming over coral that I made with colored pens and a lot of patience. These two pictures took a lot of time and they have great detail, but as in my other college work, my pics are not good and that's a shame.

Desempolvando el baúl: Retratros / Portraits

Hace poco rescaté los respaldos que tenía guardados en mi casa y encontré algunas cosas que hice en la universidad.

Estos retratos fueron de mi clase de técnicas secas; lo común era que la profesora llegara con recortes de revista y nos tocara un rostro al azar, el cual teníamos que plasmar en la técnica que eligiera. Y aquí estan tres de estos trabajos, a la única modelo que reconozco es a la primera (Gisele Bündchen), que está dibujada con lápices de colores; el segundo retrato está hecho a lápiz y el tercero, con gis pastel. Hace mucho que no trabajo con estas técnicas, talvez algún día me anime :D.

P.D: desgraciadamente solo tengo fotos pequeñísimas y de mala calidad de mis trabajos :(

Recently I've rescued the backups stored in my house and found some things I did in college.

These portraits were done in dry technique's drawing class, it was common that the teacher arrived with magazine ads and choose a face at random, which we had to capture in the drawing technique she choose. And here are three of these works, the only model that I recognize is the first one (Gisele Bundchen), which is drawn with colored pencils, the second portrait is done in pencil and the third, with pastel chalk. Long time i haven't worked with these techniques, maybe someday I'll be in mood to do it :D.

PS: Unfortunately I only have very small and poor quality pics of my work :(

Pixel Bunny

Ayer me puse a garabatear en una libretita cuadriculada y salió este conejito a pixeles, con aspecto un poco raro pero tierno a la vez, así que decidí darle una oportunidad y ver como sería a color... y aqui está :D.

Yo creo que tiene bastante hambre y por eso no le quita los ojos de encima a esa zanahoria.

Yesterday I started scribbling in a squared paper notebook, and this little pixel bunny came out with its strange but kind of cute look, so I decided to give it a try and see how it would be in color ... and here it is :D.

I think it's quite hungry and so does not take the eyes away off that carrot.
